Adopt A Road Program is everyone keeping Pickens County Clean by adopting a State Highway, a spot anywhere or a County Road.  Groups or individuals will be required to designate four days each year for improving their assigned adopted site.  Signs will be erected at each location to inform the public of their group name and community involvement.

Each year the Elaine Thomason Award it awarded to a group or person who did an exceptional job at maintaining their adopted area.  Elaine Thomason was responsible for beginning the Adopt A Road Program in Pickens County back in 1989.

2009 Elaine Thomason Award went to the Sheriff’s Department
